Strategic Sustainability at the SFP Group

With the undertaking to achieve net-zero for all products managed by us by 2050, we are making a tangible contribution to decarbonisation.

Our corporate strategy focuses on three ambitions that set the course for our company:

  • Together with its fund management company and securities firm, the independent SFP Group specialises in the entire value chain of real estate and infrastructure investments

  • Combination of real estate and financial market expertise

  • Sustainable and steady growth in assets under management

ESG Strategy

We visualise our sustainability strategy as a house, with the foundations representing our core values:

  • Exemplary corporate governance

  • Compliance with laws and regulations

  • (Climate) risk management

  • Ethical conduct as a company

  • Integrity and transparency

Materiality Matrix of the SFP Group

We conducted a materiality analysis to identify the sustainability topics that are important to us and are now basing our sustainability strategy on these topics.

Economy

We recognise and establish the connection between sustainability and economic performance. The SFP Group can only operate sustainably if it generates stable returns that satisfy its clients.

As we want to live up to our responsibility and actively contribute to a maintainable future, all our business areas centre around sustainability. This allows us to meet the requirements of clients as well as investors and promotes their financial successes.

We have a special responsibility as a provider of indirect real estate investments. We represent the interests of investors by exercising their voting rights on their behalf.

Relevant Sustainability Targets

Decent work and economic growth,
SDG 8
Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
Industry, innovation and infrastructure,
SDG 9
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
Responsible consumption and production,
SDG 12
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Environment

We place great emphasis on the decarbonising buildings by increasing the use of renewable energies and improving energy efficiency.

The net-zero target by 2050 should primarily be reached through the replacement of fossil fuels, the expansion of photovoltaic plants and energy-related refurbishments.

By promoting the circular economy, the SFP Group can help to curtail the consumption of resources and materials, reduce the production of waste and thus protect the environment.

Relevant Sustainability Targets

Affordable and clean energy,
SDG 7
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
Climate action,
SDG 13
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Social Responsibility

In addition to open communication, social responsibility for us also encompasses ethical behaviour, fair terms and conditions of business and respect for human rights.

As an attractive employer, we want to attract skilled employees and keep them working for the Group in the long term, because they are key to our business success. We not only offer good working conditions, but also opportunities for further professional training. We wish to integrate all employees more strongly into our business processes and delegate more responsibility and decision-making powers to them.

Thanks to their broad knowledge base, diverse teams can take well-founded decisions and help the company to become more adaptable. That is why equal opportunities and the inclusion of all persons and genders are self-evident to us. We distance ourselves from all discriminatory acts. We actively foster diversity and inclusiveness and reflect these at all stages: during the recruitment process, in employment and in all management decisions.

We create added value for our tenants by optimising our portfolio in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. When carrying out construction and renovation projects, we attach great importance to the maximum possible comfort of interior rooms.

Living spaces with character can enhance the attractiveness of real estate and thus lead to more demand, higher potential rent and fewer changes of tenant.

An attractive yield and rents in line with the market are important factors when it comes to satisfying investors, clients and tenants. The SFP Group stands for a direct exchange and sophisticated services. We also see our comprehensive commitment to sustainability as an investment in client orientation; growing numbers of investors and tenants view acting sustainably as a condition for a stable partnership.

Relevant Sustainability Targets

Gender equality,
SDG 5
Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
Sustainable cities and communities,
SDG 11
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

Governance

Rather than being a rigid system, corporate governance must be constantly adjusted to the latest developments and changes to the law.

Companies today are the focus of public attention in their capacity as market players as well as part of society. If a company is even just perceived to be breaking the rules, this can cause considerable damage to a good reputation built up over many years and the trust of stakeholder groups.

We attach great importance to sustainability, social commitment and reliable governance. This makes good management and an open communication culture even more valuable, which includes ensuring employee satisfaction and providing information to stakeholders.

Our business activities expose us to many different financial and non-financial risks. It is in the nature of our business that we deliberately accept selected risks for ourselves and our clients.

Data protection is key at a time of growing digitalisation, with the focus on protecting personal data. By ensuring data privacy and information security, the SFP Group protects the privacy of stakeholders such as clients and employees.
